Instructions
In a small saucepan or pot, bring 1 cup of water to a simmer. Remove from heat and add the Earl Grey tea bag and lavender. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.
Add the almond milk to the tea mixture and warm it gently over low heat (do not bring it to a boil). Stir in the vanilla extract and honey or sweetener. Adjust to your sweetness preference.
Once you’ve combined the milk and tea mixture, use a sieve to strain it to remove any lavender pieces for a smoother drink.
Froth additional almond milk or cream and then add it on top of the strained tea mixture. Sprinkle a little lavender or a dusting of cinnamon on top.
Notes
Let the Earl Grey tea steep for at least 5 minutes to bring out its rich, citrusy bergamot notes. A longer steep means a stronger, more aromatic latte.
Warm the milk until steaming, but avoid boiling, as high heat can affect the flavor and texture.
For a true Starbucks touch, use a milk frother to create a velvety foam on top.
A pinch of salt works wonders! A tiny pinch of sea salt enhances the flavors, balancing the sweetness and bergamot notes.
