These scary bloody finger cookies are the ultimate creepy-cute Halloween treat. Shaped like fingers, complete with jam-filled “bloody nails”, they’re fun to make and guaranteed to stand out on any Halloween table.
Preheat oven to 350℉ and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Roll pieces of dough into finger-length logs. Use a knife to score shallow lines for knuckles.
Press a small indent at one end of each cookie for the “nail.” Spoon a small dab of strawberry jam into each indent.
Bake 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges. Let cool slightly.
Add a little more fresh strawberry jam to the nail indents for a glossy, bloody effect. Dip a toothpick into jam and streak it across the fingers for a gory effect. Let it set before serving.
Notes
For cleaner shapes, chill rolled dough for 15 minutes before baking.
Smaller finger lengths (about 3 inches) hold their shape best.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
